CRM vs. Spreadsheets: When It's Time to Make the Switch
Spreadsheets are a perfectly reasonable way to track customers when you have a handful of deals in motion. The problems start once multiple people need to update the same data at the same time.
The clearest sign it's time to move to a CRM is when you can no longer trust the data in front of you — duplicate entries, outdated stages, or deals that quietly fell through the cracks because no one was tracking follow-up.
A second sign is reporting. If answering 'how many qualified leads did we get last month' requires someone to manually comb through rows, that time is better spent elsewhere.
The good news is that migrating to a CRM doesn't have to be disruptive. Done well, it takes the structure your team already has in a spreadsheet and simply makes it visible, automated, and reliable.
